STEM and Hospitality cross-disciplinary didactics

This edition was hosted by Insignare Fátima Hospitality School and gathered participants from Italy, Albania and Greece.
It was targeted to teachers and staff operating in Hospitality VET institutes with particular regards to those teaching IT, food processing, tourism subjects and to those involved in students mobility projects.
The partners designed the event to be an occasion to discuss how VET Hospitality Institutes can offer training solution in step with the times with regards of digital and technological revolution.
During four days they tackled this challenge by exploring scenarios, exchanging competences and techniques for undertaking a cross–disciplinary lens and integrate STEM disciplines in Hospitality subjects.
Moreover, since the preliminary phase of the project planning, students mobility has been considered by partners as important instrument for supporting the adoption of cross-disciplinary approach. Therefore some of training sessions were dedicated to improve teachers competences on the management of students work based learning experience abroad.
The training aimed to:
- Laboratory activities on food processing linked with STEM, applicable in the classrooms;
- Exchange good practices of cross disciplinary approaches in tourism links with STEM disciplines;
- Introduce basic concepts of 3D printing and Internet of things and its application in the VET system;
- Increase the competences for organizing and managing VET students mobility abroad;
